GIFT IDEAS FOR FUTURE CAMINO PILGRIMS

Christmas is a great time to gift the future Camino pilgrim in your life.
There are the big ticket items, of course: boots, pack, poles, etc. but a lot of
small things can make a big difference to those wandering souls!
A billed cap with detachable drape will be priceless in the Spanish heat and sun.
Large safety pins come in handy for hanging laundry, (even attaching wet socks to your pack to dry as you walk), and for many other uses.
A whistle is a good safety pick, and a first aid kit, including Vaseline and mole skin tape, will save toes and feet.  A small, quick-dry towel makes a great sweat rag, and a front pack belt is good to keep your passport and other valuables, and in my case, two small bottles of water. Rubber twist ties kept my boots together and I never walked out with two different sized boots in the morning.
A plastic hook will keep your clothes clean and dry while you shower.
Another great gift is a spare pair of rubber pole tips...if you lose one, it can be hard to replace until you get to larger cities.   And a sturdy rain poncho that accommodates a pack ...  a must have your Camino pilgrim will thank you for!
